Since we believe in the power ofaction, collaboration, and partnership in the spirit of Scouting, we believethat we can foster peace around us.
Recognizing the barriers and thelimitations everywhere, we all take a pledge to:
1.
Learn, appreciate, share,
and respect both our own and other cultures.
2.
Look around for
opportunities and take initiatives for the development of our communities.
3.
Equip ourselves with
necessary knowledge and skills and use them to benefit our communities.
4.
Lead a healthy lifestyle
and make others aware of the health issues that are relevant to our
communities.
5.
Preserve and conserve the
environment by promoting a sustainable green life style
We realize that a peaceful world canbe created by daily actions
of Messengers of Peace; therefore we invite all Scout members to be part of
this initiative. As it is important to involve other communities,
organizations, and institutions; we strongly expect every National Scout
Organization (NSO) in the world to strive to enlarge its partnership, to open
the gates of collaboration, and to strengthen the understanding that actionsare
at the heart of creating a peaceful world.
The forum has produced acollection of service projects ideas. It is expected that the ideas are not only to be documented, but also implemented in our local communities. This declaration is made for all Messengers of Peace and should be brought to each of our communities and amplified all over the world. We extend an ambitious, yet achievable, action call to all Scouts in the world to be united and worktogether as Messengers of Peace.
Peace is not a final destination but a continuous process. Every Scout is capable of creating peace. Through ourminds, words, and actions, we will prove and demonstrate that peace is possible. We, the participants of the International Scout Peace Camp 2013, Indonesia, are committed to be Messengers of Peace.
We are Scouts and we are Messengers of Peace
Let there be peace.
